Our Work
Presented as a kaleidoscopic multimedia journey, myriad perspectives are presented through film, spoken word, vocal soundscapes and dance/movement. Drawing on qigong, Butoh and expressive gesture, the physical language seeks to unveil a living truth that sits at the heart of these stories, to comprehend and make sense of their loss, grief, confusion, fear, and need to find resolution.
Nature and the Elements play an integral part in the organic feel and energy of the work, providing a context, texture, and vibration within the imagery. This also champions the importance of our connection with Nature and more ancient ways of existing. Although this is a very female-centric work, the piece addresses issues of ‘injustice’, ‘perceived identity’, and ‘demonisation’. These women’s stories reflect an age-old assault on Female power and its negation, existent is many cultures even today. We seek to reveal ‘the female perspective’ that has been overridden, neglected or dominated by the male gaze throughout millennia.
