What We Offer
We offer series of workshops with an aim to open up discussion and share perspectives on female identity. Using the visceral, epic, and ritualised drama of Greek Tragic Heroines as a starting context, we explore the ‘female’ point of view and some key themes that these narratives unveil. These co-creative sessions form part of our research for our Fates multimedia project. All participants will be acknowledged and credited where appropriate.
It’s as old as the hills and yet even in this day and age we are still in the grip of stereotypical and limiting ideas of what we can be as women. This is borne out of the patriarchal power structures that have existed for centuries. The unhealthy stigma around body image and the hyper sexualisation of femininity online is toxic, particularly for younger women, although older women face inordinate pressures to succumb to treatments that ‘keep us young’.

Although this is a very female-centric project, it addresses universal issues of ‘injustice’, ‘perceived identity’ and ‘demonisation’. In the Labyrinth we seek to reveal ‘the female perspective’ that has been overridden, neglected or dominated by the male gaze / prism throughout millennia.
